The scholarship allows applicants to students who wish to pursue PhD study at any private or public sector university that is chartered by Government of Punjab, covering diverse disciplines like Science & Technology, Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Business & Management Sciences and more.
Punjab HEC will provide a one-time stipend of 100,000 PKR for selected PhD scholars in the fields of technology and science. an PKR of $50,000/month for social and arts sciences for three years. Online applications are accepted by January 28, 2023.

You can submit your application online via the PHEC website until January 28, 2024. Following your online submission, ensure that a hard copy of the fully completed application is sent to the below-specified address by January 31, 2024, no later than 05:00 PM. Applications must be sent via registered post only – submissions by hand will not be entertained.

Eligibility Criteria for Punjab HEC Indigenous PhD scholarship:
- The Punjab Scholarship Program aims to foster a culture of advanced academic research and learning in the region. Eligible applicants must hold domicile from any district of Punjab and possess an MS/MPhil degree from a recognized foreign or local university. It’s important to note that no third division or grade D should mar the applicant’s academic record. Those currently employed must present a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and approved study leave from their parent department.
- The scholarship is designed to support awardees for a maximum period of three years. It’s a pre-requisite that the awardee should not engage in any other employment during the tenure of their PhD study. Age limit is set at a maximum of 40 years for males and 45 years for females as of the closing date. Once the scholarship is awarded, candidates are required to secure admission in any public or private sector university in Punjab within 9 months.
- For candidates in the Science and Technology category, a unique requirement is to submit a financial support letter from an industry partner. This letter should validate financial support of a minimum of Rs. 10,000 per month for the duration of the study. The scholarship is a unique opportunity to enhance research capabilities and contribute significantly to the academic landscape of Punjab.

- Once completed, submit it along with a cover letter to the Vice-Chancellor, Rector, or Principal of the host institution.

- Remember to mail a hard copy of your filled application to the given address by 5:00 PM on January 31, 2024, using registered post only.
- Online applications can be completed on the PHEC website before the same date.
